What is Top Grain Leather?
Top Grain is the leather made using the outermost layer of the hide, it is the strongest most durable part of the hide; yet it is soft and supple. Top grain leather becomes suppler over the years and obtains a soft patina.
What is aniline leather?
Aniline leather means that the leather has been dyed exclusively with soluble dyes without covering the surface with a topcoat paint or insoluble pigments. This results in the hide retaining its natural surface within the grain, i.e., visible pores, scars etc., of the complete original hides skin structure. Because Aniline Leather is the most natural looking leather each piece of furniture is unique as the surface characteristics of the hide remains visible, the creases are very distinct because they have not been filled with a surface coating.
How to care for your leather
All leathers must be cleaned with a dry cloth or slightly damped in natural water if necessary. Avoid hard rubbing when cleaning. To enrich the leather, use a quality leather conditioner, we recommend Pelle Revitaliser, which we sell online and in store.
